at salary grade W3 to commence as soon as possible. This is a permanent civil service position.
The professorship will be integrated into the Medical Campus of Upper Franconia. The Medical Campus of Upper Franconia is responsible for the training of doctors in the new degree programme “Human Medicine Erlangen / Bayreuth” at the Bayreuth Clinic under the auspices of the Medical Faculty of the Friedrich Alexander University of Erlangen-Nuremberg. With this and other new medical-related profile professorships, the University of Bayreuth aims to create an outstanding research environment at the Medical Campus of Upper Franconia.
The professorship will complement and expand the research opportunities of the clinical professorships of the Medical Faculty of the FAU at the Medical Campus of Upper Franconia with its medical-related field of expertise, thereby creating a nationally visible research profile. The successful candidate should be able to demonstrate the ability for interdisciplinary collaboration through corresponding publications. Experience in acquiring third-party funding and active participation in knowledge transfer is required. International networking is desired.
Scientific excellence should be demonstrated by internationally relevant publications in the fields of mobile computing and telemedicine. This includes research on interaction design and the development of mobile applications, digital health and ubiquitous computing technologies, including wearables and sensors, as well as systems – including AI-supported systems – that support, e.g., personalized diagnostics and therapy.
Applicants are expected to have relevant teaching experience and to make an active contribution to academic self-governance. Teaching is to be carried out primarily at the Medical Campus of Upper Franconia. The ability to teach in German and English is expected.
