GRK 2824 PhD position (Dr. rer. nat./PhD)

The Research Training Group 2824 (GRK 2824) funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG) offers a structured international 3-4-year doctoral programme in the field of 鈥淗eart & Brain鈥� and offers an excellent research environment, a comprehensive curriculum and a broad supervision and mentoring network.

The GRK 2824 is looking for 5 PhD students (PhD track; Dr. rer. nat.) / Project start: April 1st, 2025

The PhD positions will be paid according to the regulations of the civil service collective wage agreement (TV鈥怢 65 % of level E13).

Tasks
The successful candidate will work in one of the 5 projects within the GRK2824 in the field of heart-brain disorders

• Top notch research in the GRK2824 projects
• Techniques applied will depend on the project and host lab
• Active participation in training provided by the PhD program

Your Qualification
We are looking for highly motivated candidates with a master鈥檚 degree in natural / life sciences (molecular medicine, biology, physics or a related discipline) with very good grades

• Strong interest in basic research and patient-related research in the field of heart and brain disorders
• Experience in cellular and molecular biology and in the wet lab
• The successful candidates should have Proof of English proficiency (e. g. IELTS min. Band 6 or similar test, not for native speakers)
• You are keen to collaborate and work in a structured research program and be an active team player in the RTG
