Professor (W3) of Macroeconomics and Applied Economics


in the Department of Money and Macroeconomcis at the Faculty of Economics and Business. This civil servant or public employee position will start as soon as possible.

You are conducting research in macroeconomics and related fields and you have contributed to the micro foundation of macroeconomics. A specialization in the empirical analysis of causal relationships concerning macroeconomically relevant aspects of decision making in areas such as labor markets, income and wealth inequality, or public finance is desirable.

We are looking for applicants, who have displayed excellence in research and teaching supported by internationally visible research accomplishments including relevant publications in leading international journals.

It is expected that the successful applicant will contribute actively to the DFG (German Science Foundation) Research Group “Macroeconomic implications of intra-household decision making” and has a focus on research questions that are relevant to that group.

It is also expected that the successful applicant has shown excellent performance in teaching and will participate actively in the Bachelor, Master and doctoral study programs, including teaching in English language. In the Bachelor program, the professorship will contribute actively to the introduction to economics course offering.

The formal hiring requirements are defined in sections 67 and 68 of the Hessian Higher Education Act (Hessisches Hochschulgesetz).
