The applicant should represent the field of social sciences in sport and take over the management of the sport and society department. Content-related and organizational collaboration in teacher training is required. In addition, participation in the master's degree program in sport science with a focus on "talent in sport" and "social heterogeneity in sport" is also required.

With its sport science profile, the professorship is linked to the Oldenburg teacher training and subject master's program as well as the institute's social scientific work and research focuses.

In research, the development of an own research program with a clearly recognizable theoretical-empirical, internationally compatible and third-party-funded social science profile as well as the willingness to cooperate with the other departments in the institute is required.

The University of Oldenburg aims to promote interdisciplinary collaborative research. Teamwork and close cooperation with colleagues from the institute and the faculty are therefore expected, as well as active participation in interdisciplinary and cross-faculty research, practical and further education/ training initiatives. An active membership in the scientific center "Genealogy of the Present" (WiZeGG) is desired.

As the universities of Oldenburg, Groningen and Bremen are bound by a cooperation agreement, active participation in the cooperation is expected.

Prerequisites for employment are specified in section 25 of the Lower Saxony Higher Education Act (NHG). In addition to a relevant habilitation or equivalent achievements, a good national and international publication record in terms of career status, (inter)national research cooperation, successful participation in third‐party funding and an empirical research program with a social scientific focus are required. Applicants present their ability to connect to the described research and teaching priorities in a concept of no more than 3 pages each. German language skills (at least C2) or the willingness to acquire such skills within two years is also required.

The University aims to increase its proportion of women in science. Equally qualified women will be considered preferentially. In case of equal aptitude, applicants with disabilities will be given priority in hiring decisions. The position is suitable for part‐time employment.
