The Helmholtz Institute for Translational AngioCardioScience (HI‑TAC) is a branch of the Max Delbrück Center on the campus of Heidelberg University. The Max Delbrück Center and the Mannheim and Heidelberg Medical Faculties of the University of Heidelberg jointly founded HI‑TAC. HI‑TAC will develop a unique systemic approach in the emerging field of cadiovascular communication biology, which is operationally designated as AngioCardioScience. Translational research at HI‑TAC aims at developing a new scientific program centered on communication biology and dedicated to understanding cardiovascular functions on a systemic level during homeostasis, aging and pathological conditions. It will exploit its findings in the area of cross‑organ interactions for the development of translational applications.


HI‑TAC is currently in the build up phase and will provide a modern place for 100 scientists to conduct research and work in Heidelberg and Mannheim. Join our team and build up the HI‑TAC together with the Max Delbrück Center and the University of Heidelberg.

Job Description

  • development and conceptual support of funding calls for the implementation of HI‑TAC's scientific work packages
  • identification of relevant calls for funding and analysis of third-party funding potential, including coordination and independent preparation of scientific applications for third-party funded projects in cooperation with the scientists (m/f/d) and responsible departments at the MDC and Heidelberg University
  • coordination of scientific HI‑TAC activities, conceptualizing and organizing seminar series and scientific conferences
  • preparation of meetings of the HI‑TAC committees, such as the Steering Committee, Implementation Board, Scientific Advisory Board
  • writing scientific texts, e. g. for the website, and presentations in the context of cardiovascular research
  • ad-hoc tasks in day-to-day business, such as preparing for and following up on appointments, processing and responding to stakeholder inquiries

Requirements

  • completed doctorate in the field of medicine, biomedicine or natural sciences
  • experience in and knowledge of scientific institutions/the national scientific landscape desired, ideally in the cardiac and vascular field
  • excellent and proactive communication skills
  • strong analytical and conceptual skills, quick comprehension skills
  • ability to write clear and concise scientific texts in German and English
  • ability to familiarize yourself quickly and constantly with different topics
  • high resilience and time flexibility, willingness to travel to Berlin and between Mannheim and Heidelberg
  • confident handling of common computer software, Microsoft Office package
  • confident, engaging, communicative, situation-adequate and service-oriented appearance
  • a high degree of reliability as well as enjoyment and willingness to work in a team
  • English and German language level C1 in each case
