HI-TAC seeks two Junior Research Group Leaders in the field of AngioCardioScience

The newly established Helmholtz Institute for Translational AngioCardioScience (HI鈥慣AC) is seeking two Junior Research Group Leaders in the field of cardiovascular communication biology. We welcome applications from accomplished early-career scientists with a track-record of impactful doctoral and postdoctoral research in AngioCardioScience or any field related to cardiovascular communication such as metabolism, mechanosensing, inflammation, immunology, and cellular crosstalk. The Junior Research Group Leaders will be expected to conduct pioneering independent research, secure external funding, and collaborate with top researchers and organizations in the field. The chosen candidates will join a group of highly interactive faculty at Heidelberg University and the Max Delbr眉ck Center.

About Us

The HI-TAC, a branch of the Max Delbr眉ck Center at Heidelberg University, is realized in collaboration with the Medical Faculties of Mannheim and Heidelberg. HI-TAC is pioneering a systemic approach to cardiovascular communication biology, termed AngioCardioScience. Its research is dedicated to understanding cardiovascular function throughout lifespan and in disease, with a focus on how vascular and cardiac cells interact with each other and other organ systems to maintain homeostasis. This involves understanding effects of external influences, such as metabolism, solute balance, systemic inflammation, and neuronal regulation. By studying these interconnected systems, HI-TAC aims to gain novel insights that will advance early disease detection, prevention, and intervention.

HI-TAC is currently in its development phase and will offer a state-of-the-art facility for 100 scientists to conduct research at Heidelberg University, in partnership with the Max Delbr眉ck Center and its collaborators in Berlin. Join our team and become part of our dynamic new Helmholtz Institute.

What we offer

We offer funding for an initial 5-year period, with the possibility of a 4-year extension based on a positive evaluation. The package includes a competitive salary and an attractive start-up package, covering personnel, consumables, and an investment budget to establish your research group.

As part of HI-TAC鈥檚 junior faculty, you will be able to choose a mentor from the senior faculty at Heidelberg University and the Max Delbr眉ck Center.
