At the Department of Mathematics which is part of the Faculty of Computer Science, Electrical Engineering and Mathematics a
Furthermore, it is expected that existing research profile in applied mathematics at the Paderborn University will be strengthened and complemented, among other things within the framework of professional cooperation and participation in coordinated research projects planned for the future. Furthermore, a scientific connection to the Institute of Mathematics is desired, as well as a personality who can demonstrate successful and interdisciplinary cooperation, e.g. with the engineering sciences, computer science or physics, and who actively participates in existing research networks at Paderborn University, e.g. the Paderborn Center for Parallel Computing (PC²) or the Institute for Photonic Quantum Systems (PhoQS).
The position holder shall be significantly involved in the teaching tasks of the subject of mathematics, in particular numerical mathematics, and shall also be involved in training teachers and in interdisciplinary training. At the beginning, courses can be offered in English as well as German. It is expected that the candidate will be able to teach in both languages after a transition period. German courses are available if required.
Hiring requirements: § 36 Abs. 1 Ziff. 1 to 4 HG NRW – University law of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia (completed university degree, pedagogical aptitude, Ph.D. degree and additional academic achievements).
